Color

Sweater & Belt: Forever 21
T-shirt: Bella
Skirt: Me
Flats: Target
Strawberry Necklace: Not sure

There is nothing I love more than an outfit with a lot of color! Most days I want to surround my self with nothing but color. I loved the proportions of this outfit, so you might be seeing more outfits like this one for awhile. I have to admit that I didn't wear the sweater all day because it was really hot, but I threw it on for the photo because I like the outfit better with it. I made the skirt awhile ago, for more on it go here.

Since I went to see Alice in Wonderland I have been obsessed with red and light blue/teal. The color combination is just so bright and happy. I bough this strawberry necklace a couple of years ago from a kiosk at the mall that was only there for like a week, so I don't remember the name of the place. I am so happy I snatched it up before the kiosk disappeared.

I'm happy because I had lost one of my eyelets, so I couldn't wear my big hoops, but my piercer ordered me another pair, so this was my first day with them back in!

Fourth Day, and Last Day

On our last day in town, our aunt and uncle took us out to see Lake Michigan, its only about a 20 min drive from their house. Words cannot describe how beautiful it is. The water was such a beautiful blue, and the sand seemed so fresh and clean.

Hubby and I squinting because of the beautiful sunlight

Our lovely aunt and uncle.

The next day we had to say good-bye to our wonderful hosts. We had so much fun with them, and we started missing them as soon as we pulled out if the driveway! We can't wait to go back and see them.

Oh- and my hubby got the bike of his dreams from his uncle, we are paying him back for it by making him Civil War reenactment shirts- wish me luck! I hope I didn't bite off more than I can chew, and keep in tune I plan on doing a couple of blog posts on making them, it is going to be a huge learning experience for me.

Day Three

As soon as we got back in town I have been working non-stop on school work, I am so close to the end (of this semester) I can smell it! I decided I should take some time away from studying to relax and update my blog! So this is the very belated "Day Three" of our vacation to Chicago.

We took the train into the city, we woke up super early to make sure we got to the train station in time. The train was super cool, it was a double decker, so it made me think of Harry Potter.

Our first, and main, stop was the Sears Tower (which isn't called the Sears Tower anymore). This is a picture of the video screen inside the elevator on the way to the top.

They have this thing called the 'Sky Deck' where you stand in a Plexiglas box that is attached to the side of the building! Its crazy to look down and see nothing below your feet but 103 floors of air.

My hubby and I just had to take our picture together in it.

I was so excited about taking my outfit photos at the top of the Sears Tower, but then I got them home and decided they are too back lit for an outfit post. I still love these photos!

From there we ambled around until we found this cool park with this giant sculpture that looks like a Jelly Bean dipped in chrome. We just had to take a closer look at it.

We had a lot of time to kill until we could take our train back to the 'burbs, so we kept on wandering and getting a feel for the city.

We saw people on a Segway tour,

and police cadets training to ride their bikes through the city.

when we were picking a direction to walk in I saw a woman with the cutest shoes! and my hubby was awesome enough to take a picture of them for me.

We walked all the way down to the Navy Pier.

Dress: Me
Leggings, Heart necklace, belt: forever 21

There was this cute water fountain outside, it was so hot and my feet were a tiny bit achy so I just had to take my flip flops off and play in it! On a side note, this is my favorite dress right now, it is so comfortable. I made it, and to check out more of the stuff I make go here! After we played in the fountain we saw How to Train Your Dragon, in Imax 3D, it was amazing! I loved it and I would see the movie again in a heart beat- I highly recommend you go see it right now!

Day Two

Its funny how some things in life do not change no matter where you are. Traffic in any city always seems to be just as terrible, Starbucks is every where, weather is horribly unpredictable, and my husband will still find a way to play Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2.  We are very much having fun on our Easter Break with family, we woke up, the boys played some video games and then we went on a great bike ride (which I have no pictures of)

After our bike ride we went to Target! which is wonderful (and the same) no matter where you are. However,  I actually got help from a sales associate! I was trying shorts on in the dressing room and she went and found me shorts that might work better! Its my goal this summer to find shorts- none of them worked so I am still working on my goal.

Pink Tank top: PacSun
Peace Sign T-shirt: American Eagle
Skirt: Me
Shoes and Purse: Target

This is my only picture of myself from today (mostly) and I don't love it, but its a good example of what I look like on my normal days (normal meaning not shlubby but not super wonderful)

Road Trip!

My husband and I love the idea of traveling- however we have never had much of an opportunity to with how crazy life is, but we decided to make the time to go on a road trip and visit our Uncle, Aunt and three Cousins in the Chicago Area. . . and we drove

I drove the first leg of the journey- and I loved watching the sky lighten, I saw the moon and I made my hubby take a picture because it reminded me of "goodnight moon" the children's book, except its good morning moon

We were both super tired because we had such a hard time falling asleep the night before (and we left the house at 5am which is way before our normal awake time)

I love seeing the sun rise

Road trips are a lot of fun- but this one was twelve hours! we were in the car forever!

and we went through so many toll roads, and toll bridges. I think we spent about $50 on tolls alone

I love the red railings on the roads in Chicago, I think they are so pretty!
